Pee Jay 250 for a COX TeeDee020

I have bought a couple of my former micro planes (Shoestring Micro) from Willy Nillies, and decided to buy the Pee Jay 250 too, a speed plane for the 020 COX size powerplants.

This is a laser cut kit, assembles real quick, and is cut and made from the best quality balsa I have ever laid my hands ...

Re: Pee Jay 250 parts guide and layout for assembly

Hi, can you please advise what FB-1, FB-2, and HT-1 parts are for? They are next to Bottom Hatch on the same cutout sheet, but are not indicated on the sub-assembly drawing of the fuselage.

Thank you.

Re: Pee Jay 250 parts guide and layout for assembly

Thanks for your detailed answers, which will be duly followed when building this plane.

My question related to the hatch was about the need to build both, or one is enough. I think the top hatch provides sufficient access to the internal components, and the 2nd hatch, added instead of a solid ...

Re: Pee Jay 250 parts guide and layout for assembly

Thank you for your fast reply.

A few more questions if I may:

1. which of the 4 airfoil options would you recommend for a fast, well maneauverable plane?

2. Does ít make sense to build the bottom hatch instead of fixed sheeting, if the top hatch gives access to servos, battery and external fuel ...

Re: Pee Jay 250 parts guide and layout for assembly

Hi, is it absolutely necessary to have the rudder connected to a servo, or, the ailerons and elevator are sufficient? I never use rudder on my small RC planes if ailerons are also installed. I would rather use the 3rd servo for the exhaust throttle barrel of my COX TeeDee 020 engine.

Thank you.

Shoestring out of stock

Hello Doug, I see the Shoestring micro racer is currently out of stock.

Do you plan to replenish your stock? If yes, when?

As you know I built one and fly with a COX 010 TeeDee in its nose, and would like to build another one.

Thank you, András from Budapest, Hungary..

Shoestring Micro Racer maiden flight

I had to wait till the weather permitted the maiden flight of my Shoestring powered by a COX TeeDee010 engine. Trimming was hard until I noticed a small warpage in the left wing, caused by uneven heat while covering the wing top and bottom with heat shrink film.
I corrected the warpage, and the ...
